CO2 & Carbon Tracking
Purpose-built carbon measurement and reporting systems for engineering, construction, and infrastructure organisations — turning fragmented emissions data into defensible, auditable sustainability reporting.
You Can't Manage What You Can't Measure
Carbon reporting in construction and engineering is increasingly mandatory — from client sustainability requirements and supply chain questionnaires to PAS 2080, SECR, and net zero commitments. But most organisations are still trying to track emissions across spreadsheets, supplier-provided PDFs, and plant utilisation logs that don't connect to anything.
We build carbon tracking systems that pull emissions data from the sources that already exist in your business — plant records, fuel logs, materials consumption, travel, utilities — and make it visible, auditable, and reportable at project, site, and organisational level.
- Emissions data captured at source — not manually consolidated after the fact
- Scope 1, 2, and 3 tracked separately with appropriate emission factors
- Project-level carbon reporting alongside cost and programme
- Supply chain carbon data collected directly from subcontractors and suppliers
- Audit-ready records for client reporting, tenders, and regulatory compliance
All Three Scopes. One System.
We build carbon tracking that covers your full emissions footprint — from direct fuel burn to embedded carbon in materials and supply chain activities.
Scope 1 — Direct Emissions
Fuel consumption from plant, vehicles, and generators captured directly from plant management systems, fuel cards, and site logs — converted to CO2e using DEFRA or project-specific emission factors.
Scope 2 — Purchased Energy
Electricity and heat consumption from site offices, compounds, and fixed plant — pulled from utility data and meter readings with location and grid-specific emission factor application.
Scope 3 — Value Chain Emissions
Supply chain and materials carbon tracked across embodied carbon in materials, subcontractor activities, business travel, waste, and water — with supplier data collection built into procurement workflows.
Construction Materials Carbon
Embodied carbon in concrete, steel, aggregates, and other materials tracked using ICE database factors or supplier-specific EPDs — mapped to project delivery at the point of procurement or delivery.
Logistics & Transport
Material haulage, plant movement, and workforce travel emissions calculated from distance and vehicle type data — captured through logistics management systems or direct input by site teams.
Waste & Water
Site waste volumes and disposal routes, water consumption, and effluent data converted to carbon equivalents — closing the loop on full project lifecycle emissions.
Carbon at Project and Programme Level
Organisational-level carbon totals tell you very little on their own. The decisions that actually reduce emissions happen at project level — which plant to deploy, which materials to specify, which suppliers to use. We build carbon tracking systems that surface emissions data where operational decisions are made.
- Carbon reported alongside cost and programme in project controls dashboards
- Site-level and project-level breakdowns by scope, activity, and category
- Carbon intensity metrics — tCO2e per £m revenue, per m² constructed, per operative day
- Forecast vs. actual carbon tracking against project carbon budgets
- Trend analysis to identify high-emission activities and intervention points
Carbon Systems We Deliver
From simple organisational carbon tracking to complex project-level emissions management — scoped to where you are on your carbon journey.
Carbon Dashboards
Live Power BI dashboards showing Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions by project, site, activity type, and period — with trend lines, targets, and variance analysis built in.
Site Data Capture Apps
Mobile Power Apps for site teams to record fuel use, materials deliveries, waste volumes, and other emission-generating activities — structured, timestamped, and linked to project and cost codes.
Supply Chain Carbon Collection
Automated data collection from subcontractors and suppliers via Power Automate — structured carbon data requests, submission tracking, and consolidation into your central carbon record.
Plant & Fleet Integration
Direct integration with plant management systems and fuel card data to pull consumption records automatically — eliminating manual data entry and ensuring completeness of Scope 1 data.
SECR & Regulatory Reports
Automated generation of Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) disclosures, net zero progress reports, and client sustainability questionnaire responses — from the same underlying data.
Carbon Budgeting & Targets
Project carbon budgets set at the outset and tracked throughout delivery — giving project teams visibility of their carbon position alongside programme and cost throughout the project lifecycle.
The Business Case for Carbon Tracking
Win More Work
Clients increasingly score sustainability performance in tender evaluations. Organisations that can demonstrate structured carbon measurement and credible reduction trajectories have a tangible competitive advantage.
Meet Regulatory Requirements
SECR reporting, net zero commitments, and client contract requirements around carbon are tightening. Having a system that produces auditable, defensible data is no longer optional for large organisations.
Actually Reduce Emissions
Carbon data at project level enables operational decisions that genuinely reduce emissions — plant selection, material specification, logistics optimisation — rather than just reporting on them after the fact.
Connected to Your Operational Systems
Carbon data is most accurate and most useful when it comes directly from the operational systems your teams already use — not from a separate carbon tool that requires duplicate data entry.
We connect your carbon tracking system to the sources that already hold the data you need — so emissions records are created automatically as part of normal operational activity, not as a separate reporting exercise at month end.
- Plant management and telematics systems for fuel and hours data
- ERP and procurement systems for materials and supply chain data
- Logistics and fleet management systems for transport emissions
- Utility providers and smart meters for energy consumption data
- Existing Power Apps and operational tools for site-level capture
- DEFRA, ICE database, and custom emission factor libraries
Our Delivery Process
Emissions Scoping & Data Audit
We map your Scope 1, 2, and 3 emission sources, identify where data exists in your business today, and agree the emission factors and boundaries for your reporting — before any build begins.
Build & Integrate
Data capture apps, system integrations, emission factor libraries, and reporting dashboards built iteratively — tested against real operational data to validate accuracy before go-live.
Deploy & Embed
Rollout with training for site teams, project managers, and sustainability leads — with ongoing support as your reporting scope expands and regulatory requirements evolve.
